Ethan really does love his little brother. The first day I don't think he realized that we had an addition to our family, but now if he can't see Brenden he asks, "Mommy where is Brenden?". I forgot what it was like to have a baby in the house, but it has been way fun and exciting to add Brenden to our family.

Hello Again!!!

A quick catch-up on the lives of the Johnson's.

Whit is still working full-time at ADB. He is also in the MBA program and with a little pressure from me has decided to finish this coming December by taking an extra class each semester. He stays very busy and we don't see him much, but as Whit said there is now a light at the end of the tunnel. He has gotten into raquetball and is taking part in a tournament this weekend with the Leavitt Group. He and Ethan have become quite close just recently. It may be due to the fact that Whit is rarely home, but Ethan sure loves his daddy.

I am back in school as well. I have decided to get a masters in nursing and become a Nurse Practitioner. I will find out this June if I am accepted into the program at UNLV (it is online so we won't be moving anytime soon). I have been loving the past couple of days with the weather being so nice. It is refreshing to finally be able to go outside and not freeze.

Ethan is growing like a weed. He will be 2 in two weeks. I can not believe how fast time flies. His little personality is really begining to shine through, and with every new thing he does it reminds me how much like Whit he really is. He not only looks like him, but acts like him in everyway. We bought him big boy underwear for his birthday, I am just debating when I should attempt potty training. I think he will be excited about the underwear because they are Thomas the train, Ethan loves trains, but I don't think he will be thrilled about the potty part. We shall see.

Baby #2--Yes we are expecting a second!!! This is not an unexpected baby, for those of you who know me best I plan and when an idea hits me it is all or nothing and ASAP. (school is another example). Baby #2 will be arriving August 21st--or there abouts. :) Whit and I hope it is a boy so that Ethan can have a brother, but if it is a girl we will love her just as much. The exciting part is that we are not going to find out until we are holding our new little one in our arms!!!!

That is it in a nutshell, hopefully it will not take another 6 months for me to post again, but you never know:)

Summer Games Triathlon

I have always thought it would be so cool if I did a triathlon or ran a marathon, call me crazy. My neighbor apparently had the same thought. Two crazy minds think alike!!! So we decided to do the Summer Games Tri. We had four weeks to train!!! To bad I don't have any pictures of us killing ourselves training, but I do have some really good ones of the tri at Sand Hollow.

This was two weeks before the tri, we went to Sand Hollow to practice an "open water" swim. It made me kind of nervous for the real thing because the water was cold and took my breath away. I thought I was going to sink to the bottom.

The Swim

The Swim is done, now to the bike...

Getting ready to bike

...And we are off.

Time to Run...

Finish line here I come!!!
Done at last!!!

The best cheer squad in the world!!!

My goal was to finish the tri in 2 hours and I did it in 1 hour and 48 minutes. It was so fun. The atmosphere got us pumped up and the fact that we both accomplished a goal that we never thought we would or could was awesome. I had so much fun that I registered for the Scofield Tri in the middle of July and I am going to attempt a half marathon in August. Crazy, I know!!!

More Randomness!!!

More random pictures of my cute boy!!!

Eating waffles with a screwdriver

Evil Conevil (I don't know if that is the correct spelling, but it works. Question: Is there a way to rotate pictures once you have posted them?)

My blue eyed angel

This is Ethan hanging out with our neighbor Carson!!! I think Carson is telling Ethan their get-away plan.

Now that Ethan doesn't ride in this carseat all of the time, he seems to really enjoy sitting in it. I wish he liked the one in the car as much as this one;)

Tight places, Bananas, and Milk

Okay so I knew that a weird title like the one above would make sure that everyone that even looked at my blog would read this post. In my "catching up" I have to throw in some really random, yet to cute to pass up, pictures of "The Ethanator".

Tight Places

Ethan loves to climb into things like suitcases, boxes, and baskets. Why, you may ask, I have no idea, but I sure think it is cute. When ever he does it he looks at me with that look that says, "Look at me mom, aren't I cool!!!"

Bananas

I have never been a huge banana fan so I unintentionally deprived Ethan of the apparently wonderful Banana fruit (he loved the mashed baby food bananas, but I just didn't think of giving him real bananas). So not too long ago I thought while walking through the store, "you know Ethan might actually like bananas", so I bought some. He LOVES them!!! He has to eat them a certain way though. I have to leave them in the peel and he even holds it a certain way. It is really cute. Maybe it is a mom thing, but I thought I would share.

Milk

This picture shows how much Ethan loves his milk and takes after his daddy.

Grafton

In May we went to Grafton with Whit's parents and brothers. It was so fun. For those of you that don't know, Grafton is on your way to Zion's. It is a little ghost town. The Johnson's run their cows on the land and we often go there to dutch oven and camp out. So this little trip we were preparing for a family reunion in June. We went riding horses and made some dutch oven potatos, yummy!!! Ethan hates to touch the horses because they are so big, but he loves to ride them. Once he is on a horse he hates to get off. Maybe he will be a little cowboy like his grandpa :) Dutch ovening (if that is even a word) was so fun. Gage, Ethan's cousin, helped grandpa make the dutch oven biscuits. He would take a bite of dough and then roll the dough in his dirty little hands and throw it in the dutch oven, just like grandpa. We all laughed, but I think we all avoided the biscuits that looked a little more brown than the others.
